Doom 4 announced – prepare to be scared.

Doom 3 was a beautifully terrifying, and simple, game on the original Xbox and PC. In fact, it probably pushed the Xbox to the brink.

Now, iD has announced the fourth iteration of the classic shooter series, according to GameSpot.

All I have to say is that I’m already scared. Doom 3 looked amazing and was actually pretty tense most of the way through… well… now it’s going to look even better.

I just worry that the game may be too simple compared to the recent CoD4s and BioShocks of the world, along with the upcoming Mirror’s Edge. First person games now have to go that extra distance.

EA has also announced Fight Night Round 4 will be coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2009, with Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali as playable fighters.

And because GTAIV has absolutely dominated everything lately, Take Two has announced the game has made $500 million in week one sales.
